High-capacity plants
Designed for high gas-output projects on sites without space restrictions. Cost-optimized, with greater capacity for future expansion.
Capabilities
AGF-designed plants operate high-efficiency biogas production processes, capable of maintaining stability even with high concentrations of nitrogen and fats. They can handle changes in feedstock input and control biogas production. These are proprietary designs. The profitability of these processes depends on their stability and annual operating availability.
A biogas plant that processes waste is a process industry. The raw material can change, and the plant must be designed to cope with variations in substrate composition and quantity. The design requires combining operating experience with engineering. Integrating every process is essential for an optimal design.
Operating means reducing risk and maximizing profitability. Methanogenesis is an exothermic process. AGF's biogas plants operate around this optimum, which is why the reactors need to be cooled. Operating the plant is a complex task that requires multidisciplinary knowledge and a deep understanding of the plant's capabilities. Operation cannot be separated from engineering. AGF's production control system allows the biogas flow rate to be adjusted while maintaining a constant dome pressure.
Producing biogas from waste requires the construction of a Waste Management Plant. Pre- and post-treatment processes are required to carry out this activity. AGF has developed sterilization processes, several hygienization solutions, and nitrogen reduction in effluents through NDN, among others. These processes are integrated as part of the overall solution.
Designs
Three own designs for carrying out the same process. The choice depends on the treatment capacity, the space available on the site and where the waste is generated.

Designed for high gas-output projects on sites without space restrictions. Cost-optimized, with greater capacity for future expansion.

For sites where surface area is scarce or limited. The whole process fits into the smallest possible footprint: a plant type that can be located in high-demand areas with no trade-off in process efficiency.

For small volumes of organic waste that need to be treated right where they are produced. It is built inside a container in the workshop and installed with no complex civil works: a plant type that treats waste at source and cuts, or even eliminates, its transport.

The plant experienced serious operating problems when it started up. AGF carried out a technical intervention that brought the plant to full production within three months. Operated successfully by AGF ever since 2014.
